Patient Privacy
Kilmore District Health (KDH) is committed to protecting your privacy. We comply with all applicable Victorian legislation relating to confidentiality and privacy regarding information about your health and other personal details.

KDH is required to comply with the relevant law which ensures personal and health information relating to any individual who has interacted with KDH is handled accordingly.
Depending on the type of information (personal or health) will impact on which Victorian Legislation would apply. Some examples of the relevant Privacy legislation which KDH adheres to are;

In addition to the above, KDH has in place strict internal policies governing patient privacy and access to patient and resident information.

Information is collected during when you or your family are treated at our health service, aged care facilities and community nursing facility. This information is retained as part of your medical record and is updated at each visit or service provision.

KDH will only use or disclose your information if it is for the primary reason it was collected, or a secondary purpose only if you would reasonably expect KDH to use or disclose such information. For any other reason, KDH will require your consent before the use or disclosure of your information occurs.

Health professionals who are involved with your health care, will have access to your information. In some instances it may be necessary for KDH to provide your information to your General Practitioner, or another Hospital, or any other health professional who is involved with your health care.
