How many vaccines do I need to have?
COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Australia require two doses.
The Pfizer vaccine second dose is required to be given 3 weeks after the first dose.
The AstraZeneca vaccine is required to be given 4-12 weeks after the first dose, however 6 weeks is the preferred timeframe.
The Moderna vaccine is required to be given 4 weeks after the first dose.
Can I have my flu vaccination when I have my COVID vaccination?
No, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends a minimum of 7 days between either dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine or any other vaccine.
Can I have one dose of one vaccine and another dose of another vaccine?
No, you will be vaccinated with the same vaccine for both of your doses.
