Today is World Health Day. This year’s theme is ‘Our Planet, Our Health’, which centres on the links between all aspects of our health and the health of our environment.
In the midst of a pandemic, a polluted planet, increasing diseases like cancer, asthma, heart disease, on World Health Day 2022, WHO focuses global attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy.
At KDH we are doing our part by rolling out E-waste tubes for discarded items without contaminating the earth. In the last 12 months we have recycled 371.62kg of batteries (including car batteries).
KDH have also installed solar panels on the hospital, accommodation, Caladenia and Dianella roofs. Between July 2021 – December 2021, we have seen a 14% reduction in CO2e, predominately due to the electricity consumption. This equates to saving 671 trees.
